I have found these two links covering short term assemblies and events and do not see where Car Club type shows fall under this requirement.

No building permits are required for membrane structures (tents) that are 10 x 12 in size or less provided the tents are not being utilized for the sale of items such as sparklers, Christmas trees, pumpkins, stuffed animals and/or flowers.

So feel free to set up your 10 x 12 or less Ez-Up tents and do not sell sparklers, Christmas trees, pumpkins, stuffed animals and/or flowers and all should be well, right?
